Alhaji Mujahid Asari Dokubo, the leader of the Niger Delta People’s Volunteer Front, has said that no missing Chibok girl has been found, because no girls were missing.
The ex militant leader released a statement via his Facebook page, insisting that the no schoolgirl was kidnapped from Chibok and the news of girls being rescued is all a scam.
Read his statement below:
The Civilian JTF on Tuesday, May 17, rescued a 19-year-old girl identified as Amina Ali Nkek from Mbalala village, south of Chibok with a baby in the Sambisa forest, the notorious hideout of the Boko Haram sect. Amina was one of 219 schoolgirls missing since being kidnapped from a secondary school in the town of Chibok two years ago.
Sambisa forest is considered to be the terrorist group’s stronghold and has long been the suspected location of the girls. About 276 schoolgirls were abducted at gunpoint from their boarding school in Chibok town, Borno state, on April 14, 2014. Fifty-seven of them managed to escape. Two of them have been rescued in the last two days.
