Indiana is considered the ‘crossroads of America’ and Donald Trump hopes that his Republican primary win on May 3 leads him straight to the White House! Despite Ted Cruz’ best efforts, Donald won the Hoosier state.
The Republican National Convention is getting closer by the day, so Donald Trump, 69, Ted Cruz, 45, and John Kasich, 63, know each primary victory is critical to their shot at the party’s nomination! Donald took home a huge win on May 3 in the Indiana primary, and now he’s dangerously close to being the official nominee! We have the results, here.
Indiana voters hit the voting booths on May 3 in hopes of selecting the candidate who will fight to replace President Barack Obama, 54, when he leaves the White House in 2017. After all polls closed, Donald came out on top yet again! The front runner is getting closer and closer to getting the nomination, and he ran away with the Indiana vote with 54% to Ted’s 33% and John’s 9%.
Donald went into this vote with 1,002 of the 1,237 delegates he needed to secure the GOP’s nomination. With only 57 up for grabs, it wasn’t likely that Donald would completely eliminate his Republican rivals, but after winning six states in a row, it looks like he’s going to be the GOP’s pick for president.
The question after this election is: will John drop out? It’s not likely. “He’s in the race through the convention. He is the only candidate who can defeat Hillary Clinton,” his spokesman, Chris Schrimpf, told the Columbus Dispatch. Yet, half of voters in his home state of Ohio want their governor to throw in the towel!
