Six years after the death of Nigeria’s former president, Umaru Musa Yar’Adua citizens of the most populous black nation have taken to social media to pay glowing tribute to the soft-spoken president whose term as number one citizen was truncated by illness.
It would be recalled that Yar’Adua left Nigeria for pericarditis treatment at a clinic in Saudi Arabia. But returned to Nigeria after rumours that he was dead.
On 5 May at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa he was declared dead and according to Islamic rites, he was buried on 6 May in his hometown in Katsina.
Remembering him, Nigeria took to social media to praise Yar’Adua as governor and president.
