It seems only fitting that The Lion King cast brings a queen into the mix, and they did just that, as Disney has officially announced that Beyoncé has hopped on board to voice the lioness Nala in the live-action re-imagining of the film.
The studio made the announcement on Wednesday evening, posting a collage of photos of the confirmed cast, which boasts some of the most prime Black talent out there. The "All Night" singer reposted the photo on her Facebook page, to the BeyHive's excitement.
The Jon Favreau-directed film will now, in addition to the Queen Bey, feature performances from Doland Glover (Simba), James Earl Jones (Mufasa), Chiwetel Ejiofor (Scar), Alfre Woodard (Sarabi), John Kani (Rafiki), John Oliver (Zazu), Seth Rogen (Pumbaa), Billy Eichner (Timon), and a slew of top-notch talent from both experienced actors and new faces alike.
Take a look at the impressive cast, below:
Favreau expressed his pride in the A-list cast in a statement.
"It is a director's dream to assemble a talented team like this to bring this classic story to life," he said.
Needless to say, Twitter lost it when both Disney and Queen Bey confirmed the news. Take a look at some of the reactions, below:

I am glad the Lion King is being rebooted so we can remember Scar can only be President for so long before Beyoncé shows up & fixes it— Aparna Nancherla (@aparnapkin) November 2, 2017
