When Queen Elizabeth invited High Commissioner of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, George Adesola Oguntade, and his wife Modupe to Buckingham Palace, she never could have expected that their meeting would result in something so fashionable — and funny.
The 91-year-old, wearing a purple floral dress accessorized with patent block heels and her go-to miniature handbag, unintentionally coordinated with her guests. While Modupe was clad in a maroon-striped ipele, her husband chose a traditional agbada for the prestigious occasion.
The Queen seemed unfazed by the fashionable coincidence, as she could be seen smiling and laughing along with the couple.
Of course, when the royal family’s official Instagram account shared a snap of the meeting, social media went into meltdown with many rushing to question if the sartorial coordination was planned.
One user rushed to comment: “Love that their outfits are color coordinated!” While another joked, “They should’ve texted to see what they were wearing…”
