/ by Charles Matthew

Soccer fans in Gusau, the Zamfara capital on Wednesday expressed sadness over the death of former Super Eagles’ Coach, Steven Keshi as they paid glowing tributes to him. The fans expressed their feelings in separate interviews in Gusau.

Sani Muhammad, the Team Manager of Zamfara FC, said that the death of Keshi was a great loss to Nigerian Football Association, considering his positive impact to the development of football in the country.

Muhammad, who described Keshi’s death as shocking, sympathised with the family, Nigerians and the soccer world. Mr James Emmanuel, a lover of football, said that the former super eagles’ coach was a hero to Nigerian footballers, adding that the deceased would be remembered for his hard work and dedication to the game.

Emmanuel added that Keshi was a good man who loved his family and Nigeria at large. Hassan Sani, another football fan, said that Keshi was a hero and alluded to the belief in some quarters that Keshi’s death might have been caused by the death of his wife.

Sani prayed to God to grant the deceased eternal rest and his family the fortitude the bear the loss.
