Manchester United boss, Jose Mourinho, has changed his transfer plans
for the summer, following Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo’s
injuries.
The club has already confirmed that the two players suffered
“significant” ligament damage during their 2-1 win over Anderlecht in
the Europa League and could be out till next year.
In Ibrahimovic’s case, he is now unlikely to be offered a new contract to stay at Old Trafford. Mourinho is now looking at the possibility of bringing in Everton’s Romelu Lukaku or Andrea Belotti from Torino.
When asked whether United’s plans had altered, Mourinho admitted:
“Yes. Yes. Because if I don’t have the players for a long period of
time, obviously it affects.”
The Portuguese will also look at a new defender because of Rojo’s
injury. Benfica centre half Victor Lindelof, Atletico Madrid defender,
Jose Gimenez and Paris Saint-Germain centre-back Marquinhos are believed
to be on the shortlist.
