Country superstar Shania Twain would jump at the opportunity to record a duet with her fellow Canadian Celine Dion.
The You're Still the One hitmaker is feeling reinvigorated as she prepares to release Now, her first album since 2002's Up!, on 29 September (17), and when asked if she would be interested in a potential double-act with Celine, Shania makes it clear she is all in.
"Hell yes," she exclaims to The Cut. "Oh, I'd love to do that."
"I actually use her (Celine) as my warm-up music a lot of the time," she shares. "She's got such a high range. Drove All Night (by Celine) is my favourite one to do my vocal warm-ups to, because it has the higher harmony, which is really hard."
If Shania's wish comes true, it won't be the first time the two female powerhouses have teamed up to sing - they joined forces with Gloria Estefan and Carole King to perform the classic James Taylor song You've Got a Friend at VH1's Divas Live event in New York City back in 1998.
The thought of a possible Celine duet fits right in with Shania's new state of mind, as she reveals the track More Fun, from her new album, is a good example of her current approach to life.
"It's a mantra I tell myself: 'I didn't have enough fun today, I've got to have more fun'," smiled Shania, who turns 52 on Monday (28Aug17).
It's a similar sentiment the singer shared with her lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) fans during a recent listening party for Now at the Spotify offices in New York City earlier this month (Aug17).
According to Billboard.com, she told her fans to repeat to themselves: "I'm alive. I'm going to be OK. I'm alright."
Addressing those devotees directly, the kind-hearted legend said, "It's so difficult to face your fears and I think a lot of people in this day and age are hopefully getting more comfortable with who they are and who are they are in their own skin."
