Several people have been hurt after a car mounted the pavement in London this afternoon.
Armed police are currently at the scene outside the Natural History Museum in South Kensington.
Eye-witnesses said that people are being taken away in ambulances. A man has been arrested outside the museum.
Reports suggest a vehicle “drove into people” with paramedics seen treating victims in the street, according to witnesses.
Images show police setting up a cordon as people evacuate the scene.Metropolitan Police has confirmed that a man has been detained.
The force said in a statement: “Police were called at 2.21pm on Saturday, October 7 to reports of a collision in Exhibition Road, South Kensington
“It is believed that a number of pedestrians have been injured.
“Officers are on scene, and the London Ambulance Service have been called.
“A man (no further dets) has been detained at the scene. Enquiries to establish the circumstances and motive are underway.
“If you have any information about this incident, please call 101.”
