Gent of Belgium Nigerian midfielder Anderson Esiti has been handed a
recall to the senior national team of Nigeria by coach Gernot Rohr.
Esiti is in the provisional list of players under consideration for
the Eagles camp in France, which is due to be released later in the
month.
The Franco-German coach of the Super Eagles wasn’t happy with the
midfielder’s display against Zambia in a World Cup qualifier which
Nigeria won 2-1 away in Ndola.
He subsequently left him out of the squad for the squad for the
Algeria game, and the recent friendly against Senegal in London, before
deciding to list him in his provisional squad for the training camp in
France.
Rohr decided to give the power playing midfielder widely recognised
as the strongest Nigerian player, a second chance following a string of
impressive performances for Gent.
The camp in France is meant to prepare the Eagles for the AFCON 2019
Qualifiers clash against South Africa in June, and the team will play
Corsica Island during their stay in France.
